In the pandemic, the gap between the application of the flipped model and current curriculums in Vocational Education and Training (VET) are emphasizing that non-IT VET providers need a tailored work-based learning on flipped classroom model. Therefore, this project aims to support VET institutions and VET providers to upgrade and transfer work experiences to a work-based learning model.
This Erasmus+ project started in November 2021 and will end in November 2023. It aims to support VET institutions and VET providers to improve and shift work experience courses via using a flipped work-based learning model.
According to the literature, IT VETs have demonstrated better adoption of flipped work-based learning than others in the pandemic era. For this reason, the aim of this project is to eliminate the problems faced by non IT VET providers while digitizing their service. In this regard, the project results will enhance the capacities of VET providers with the necessary competencies to digitize their services and work-based learning. It will be a targeted tool to stimulate innovation in work-based learning. This project will respond to the needs of VET and VETs providers by enhancing the capacity to use the Flipped Work-based Learning model. In addition, this project aims to transfer Work-based Learning practices of employees in partner countries to the digital environment.
The target groups are the VETs institutions and providers, universities, professional organizations, City council, research centres, policy makers, public authorities and other stakeholders who specifically focus on the needs of digitalisation of Work-based learning in the pandemic era.
This project is not focusing on the specific sector. Since there are already many flipped classrooms in different sector such as steam education, textile, biology, cooking. However, in the pandemic era, the gap between the application of the model and current VETs curriculum is highlighting that non-IT VET providers need a tailored work-based learning with flipped classroom approach.
In this project, we are working on three distinct results:
Result 1: The Flipped Work-based Learning Curriculum: Digitalization of the Work-based Learning. This curriculum is a tool that will enable implementation of work-based learning in a digital environment. It will provide information on how to design the flipped Work-based learning
Result 2: The Flipped Work-based Learning Guide, Training Materials for VET providers, and Online Toolkit for the Flipped Work-based Learning: This result aims to support VET providers in their digitization processes by providing a guide, training materials, and a toolkit.
Result 3: Digitalizing the VET: A Self-Learning Platform: This platform provides a complete and comprehensive environment, which includes all the results developed in the project and presents them to the public.
